My sister Jodie
“Jodie .It was the first word I ever said. Most people mouth ‘Mumma’ or ‘dadda’ .I guess people name the things they love most. That’s why I said Jodie .My Sister.”
Pearl and Jodie are sisters .Pearl is quiet and cautious while Jodie is bold and brash –but Pearl adores her anyway .When their parents get jobs at Melchester College - posh new boarding school the girls are thrust into a new life. Jodie has always been the leader but this time it’s Pearl who is making all the new friends, not Jodie .Constantly getting into trouble-arguing with her mother ,flirting with the gardener and not fitting in with the snobby teenagers her age ,Jodie finds her new life difficult. But Pearl is doing extremely well and even though she may not need Jodie as much as she thought –Jodie needs her.
And when a tragic event occurs at fireworks night ,Pearl realises just how much she needs her big sister
I chose My sister Jodie because it is a great book and I totally recommend it for ages 9-14.I rate it *****5 stars !!

Movie review :Nanny McPhee and the big bang
Nanny McPhee and the big bang
Nanny McPhee and the big bang is set on a farm in the English countryside in the 1940’s while the second world war is taking place .Mrs Green is struggling to look after her three unruly children who constantly bicker and fight although this is proving to be difficult as they are short of money and the children miss their father as he is at war and they haven’t heard from him for months .Mrs Green is forced to work and it doesn’t help that their posh city cousins are coming to stay.
The children don’t get along with their rich cousins until Nanny Mcphee arrives – and with a little bit of magic and 5 important rules the children finally get to know what is really important in life –family and love.
This is a hilarious but touching film that I really recommend. I rated it ****4 Stars !

Movie Review- Valentine's Day
Hey!!! This week's review is on Valentine's Day(Feb. 14) starring:
Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, George Lopez, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, Julia Roberts, Emma Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway.
There are so many different stories going on at once- it is great! :D
Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift are highschool boyfriend/girlfriends. Swift is the dumb blonde and Lautner is the sporting jock.
Ashton Kutcher proposed to Jessica Alba on Valentine's Day, but he gets a good and bad response.
George Lopez works with Ashton Kutcher at a florist and has a perfect family.
Jessica Biel has an annual celebration of " I hate Valentine's Day" and can't stand it! That's until she meets news reporter, Jamie Foxx.
Jennifer Garner is dating Patrick Dempsey who turns out to be married with children. She turns out to have a slight crush on one of the other characters after her relationship with Dempsey is over.
Julia Roberts meets Bradley Cooper on a flight as she works in the amry and is returning to see her son for one night as she only gets to see him annually. Her son lives with his grandparents and is upset about his mother.
Emma Roberts is ready to you-know with her boyfriend but they are caught at the wrong place, at the wrong time by her mother!!!
Anne Hathaway operates a very strange phone-line and it can spoil all her relationships with boyfriends and friends. She works for Queen Latifah who accidentally answers one of Hathaway's phonecalls. Uh-oh!
What will happen with everyone on Valentine's Day? Funny, sad and inspiring.
Rated: M. I recommend this movie to 10-70+. For all ages!!!

What's Hot, What's Not
Hey!Here is this week's W.H.W.N.
HOT!
Skinny Jeans: Let's face it, skinny jeans have always been hot. High-waisted, baggy, low-ride, tight, skinny, distressed, ripped- all hot new trends! The best kinds to get are black, blue denim, light blue, grey, and white skinny jeans work too! I usually get mine from Supre for $40-$45- but this is quite expensive so to get it cheaper and exactly the same quality, head to Target and you can get them for $20!!!
NOT!
Maxi Dresses- Okay, they were alright, some point in time because they came in many different patterns and colours but I only like two of the thousands of designs of them. They hang over your legs, they are uncomfortable, hard to work in and well- Horrible looking! Keep them well away!

Book Review- Angel Cake
This Week's book review is on the book, Angel Cake. This book was written by Cathy Cassidy and is one of her most recent books and I believe, her best book.
It is about a Polish girl, Anya who is desperate to move to England which she thinks is sunny skies and beautiful streets. When Anya gets the opportunity to move to England with her family, she is extremely happy and so is her sister, Kazia. When she arrives in England it isn't what she thought it would be, it is the opposite. The sky is grey, the gutters are filled with rubbish and the land is polluted. The beautiful white-wash cottage she imagined she would be moving to, turns out to be a flat above a fish shop, with peeled wallpapers, crammed bedrooms and ofcourse the scent of scaly fish. In Poland, she was popular at school but in England, people can't understand her English, (even though she was the best and English in Poland)
and talk to her like she is an alien! Her parents are struggling financially and will probably have to move back to Poland where her granparents can support her family. She is relieved! Then she meets badboy Dan. He is completely unpredictable and his caramel skin and dark, braided hair are too dreamy! Will Anya fall for Dan? Will Anya like England or will they move back to Poland? Find out! Angel Cake is out in most book shops.
I rate this book..... ***** 5 stars! I loved it!
I recommend it to 9-15y/o.
Hope you enjoy.

Best places to live in the world !
Hey Guys(or grlz!)
BBC - Norway is the best place in the world to live while Niger is the least desirable, according to an annual report by the United Nations. The 182 countries were ranked according to the quality of life their citizens experienced. Criteria examined included life expectancy, literacy rates, school enrolment and country economies. . . Norway's consistently high rating for desirable living standards, is, in large part, the result of the discovery of offshore oil and gas deposits in the late 1960s. Niger, however, is a drought-prone country which has sometimes struggled to feed its people. Other countries to reach the top spots were Australia in second place and Iceland in third spot .
However, living standards in Iceland have changed since the data was collected, as it was one of the countries worst hit by the credit crunch. Best places to live Norway Australia Iceland. . .
Afghanistan was regarded the second least desirable place to live, just below Sierra Leone in third from bottom place. . .
China has become one of the most improved because of rising income levels and life expectancy rates.
The United States is rated as the 13th most desirable place to live, while the UK takes the 21st spot.
COOL GO AUSSIE !!

Celeb of the week
Sorry for the long break of posts! We've been enjoying the holidays! :D
Anyway, this week's celeb of the week is KE$HA!!!
We chose Ke$ha because she was so determined to follow her dream to be a singer and we love her music!!
Here is a bit about her:
* To get her record deal, she broke into Prince's (celebrity singer) house and left a demo of her song "Tik Tok" on his desk. He loved it and got her famous!!!
*She grew up in Nashville, Tennessee but when her family was struggling with money issues, she moved to California to support them.
*Her real name is Kesha Rose Sebert.
*Her Mum's name was "Pebe".Her mother raised her as a single parent. Her mother was also a songwriter.
*Their family struggled finantially, so their mother used food stamps and welfare payments to feed her and her 2 brothers, Lagan and Louis.
*She sang back-up vocals for Paris Hilton in one of her songs which ended up with Ke$ha deliberately vommiting in Hilton's closet!
Hope you enjoyed !!!
xxx.... :D
